Label Of The Week: Hassle Records

Label of the Week

Based out of London, the small team at Hassle Records has spent the past few years serving up music fans with some of the most exciting new rock, punk and metal bands.

The label launched in 2005, and its first release was the Juliette & the Licks record …Like A Bolt of Lightning.

These days the Hassle alumni list features a wide range of artists, including emo bands Say Anything and Thursday, experimental rockers 65daysofstatic, and punk bands Anti-Flag and Propaghandi. Together they offer proof of the label’s dedication to “love and passion for music” (in the words of founder Chris Baker) and its impressive diversity.

Below are some of the choicest cuts from the label – past and up and coming. Click through to each artist’s profile page for free downloads.

A great coup for the label was the second coming of their relationship with US punk veterans Alkaline Trio. After originally working with the band in their earlier years, Hassle secured the release of their 2010 album This Addiction and will also be releasing their eighth album Damnesia on July 11th.
