The Vaccines, recently featured as Last.fm Discover artists of the week, unleashed their tightly wound punk-rock energy on a daytime crowd during the Filter Magazine Culture Collide party at Cedar Street Courtyard in Austin, Texas. While some bands at South By Southwest struggled with the hot Texas sun, these guys paid it no mind, kicking into their material like they were the only band in Austin that mattered. It was one of several SXSW gigs from these U.K. favorites, and proofe that they are more than ready to break in the States.

A few weeks earlier, they stopped by Last.fm Discover in New York to talk about their music and play songs from the album live in the studio.

The band’s debut album, What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?, was recently released in the U.K. and is scheduled for a May release in the U.S.

The band was also featured in a Spinner Pop-Up show at SXSW.
